Mr.Tang Yu-shiun, who has adopted the artistic name Bai Chuan, was born in 1921 in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China. He graduated from the Department of Accounting of Fudan University in Shanghai in 1944, after two years of work, he went to Taiwan to carry out accounting business in Taiwan for 46 years and emigrated to New Zealand since retiring in 1995.

When Mr.Tang is about to be 100 years old," Exhibition of Calligraphy by Tang Yu-Shiun" will be held in 2019 at his alma mater, Fudan University; his hometown, Ningbo University, and his current residence in Christchurch, New Zealand; this is a far-reaching cultural exchange activity.

In the course of nearly a century of life, Mr.Tang Yu-shiun has worked assiduously to study the profound Chinese culture, to practice the infinite art of calligraphy, to continuously study and teach Yang Style Taijiquan, also proficient in traditional Chinese culture and art, such as Peking Opera. He is a well-known calligrapher, Taijiquan master, Sinologist in New Zealand.
