An exciting and modern museum with displays that illustrate the history of the industrial development of the Buller region.

One of the displays focuses on coal mining and offers a true-to-life coal mine, a 20-ton brake drum used to control the Q wagons on the Denniston Incline, and an actual Q wagon suspended at the amazing 45 degree angle of the incline.

There is also a movie on the history of coal mining throughout the region. Other displays include saw mill equipment, aviation and transport, sailing and steam ships, minerals, and brewery equipment.
