Dunedin Symphony Orchestra 2017 Concert Season

Dunedin Symphony Orchestra 2017 Concert Season

The DSO has a stunning line-up of internationally-acclaimed guest artists from around the world for our exiting 2017 concerts: violinist Ilya Gringolts (Europe), cellist Li-Wei Qin (China), Australian conductors Daniel Kossov and Richard Davis, Principal Guest Conductor Simon Over (UK), plus leading New Zealand conductors and soloists.

The programmes offer plenty of variety: landmark masterpieces and also not-so-well-known works for us to get to know. In November the DSO will perform Tally Ho! 2, a concert of music from the Dunedin Sound. Judging by the 2015 performance of Tally Ho!, this is bound to be a very popular concert.

The series concerts will follow the well-established pattern of three International Series concerts on Saturday evenings in the Dunedin Town Hall, and two Matinee Series concerts in King’s and Queen’s Performing Arts Centre (each concert receiving two performances: one on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon).
