Like Joan Jett with a drum machine, Pulp Fiction bangs and kaleidoscopic baton swinging, Zowie (aka Zoe Fleury) is a futuristic cheerleader from planet Wow; a whip smart karate-proficient 23 year old with a penchant for percussion and a dizzying creative ferocity.

After signing with Sony Music, her single ‘Broken Machine’ (and its eye popping video courtesy of Special Problems) peaked as high as #3 on iTunes and enjoyed a month in the NZ Top 10, as well as becoming a permanent fixture on commercial and alternative radio and C4TV.

2010 has seen Zowie travel the world creating her debut album and touring the US where she took New York by storm October 2010, playing eight shows in five days and receiving blanket coverage from NY Times, Nylon and Fader and countless blogs.

Zoe Fleury’s life as one half of punk duo Bengal Lights, and as Bionic Pixie has included shows at The Big Day Out, Rhythm & Vines and opening for The Kills and Peaches.
