WTF did I just see? Creative Act Development Workshop with Amourous Ava

Want to push your burlesque acts further?

Join Amourous Ava, Reining Queen of the New Zealand Burlesque Festival, DIY Burleskiwi 2019, and one of New Zealand’s most innovative burlesque artists for this act development workshop. Learn techniques to help you think creatively and critically about act concept choice, music, character, costume and movement, and how all these elements fit together. We will discuss techniques for act concept generation, and the processes involved in the development and refinement of a show-stopping burlesque act. Suitable for performers of all levels and style of performance, from neo to classic and beyond.

What people have said about this workshop:

'I have written three pages of act-concept notes and sketches, following the workshop... Looking forward to transferring them to the stage! Thanks so much!!' - Heaven Z'dor

'Amourous Ava isn't an award-winning burlesque artist for nothing. She's an illusionist, a visionary and by far one of New Zealand's most creative burlesque artists. She always surprises and delights with her acts, each of them different than the last, andis always coming up with out of the box ideas which I personally pinch myself for, as I wish I'd have thought of them first!' - Lilly Loca

'Just wanted to say thanks again for your well prepared and well presented workshop! I found the material really useful and will certainly apply the techniques I learnt.' - Lesley Hamel
