Just because we had so much fun last year, we are bringing the festivity back again in the beginning of 2019.

Come celebrate the Whau Chinese New Year Festival at Olympic Park in New Lynn on Sunday 10th February 2019, the year of the Pig. More than 3,500 people spent a great summer day out with us last year, and we expect to see more in 2019.

The event is free to participate and offers lots of space for both activities and imagination. Bring your families, rellies and friends to dive into a rich range of food stalls from Chinese specialties to international flavors, indoor and outdoor cultural programs including ethnical performances, unique artworks display, and bunches of family activities. No matter what age you are and where you are from, we have something for everyone!

Whau Chinese New Year Festival 2019 is consecutively supported by Whau Local Board, co-organizers and partners. Special thank-you go to our sponsors, Mutual Benefit Group and Avanda as well as charity partners: St. John, Eco Matters, Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust, and the United Nations Association of New Zealand. Aiming to raise charity awareness and boost cultural diversity, we are championing the core value of our community in a festive way.

Follow our Facebook page and Instagram account to stay tuned with more details of the event. We would love to see you there on the day. You are most welcome to share your experience and hashtag #WhauChineseNY2019 so we know you have had a good time with us.
