Join renowned comedians Urzila Carlson, Justine Smith, Pax Assadi, and John Carr, with Vaughan King as MC, for a night of laughs and banter to support Labour Auckland North and Shine Women's Refuge.

Fresh from recording her Netflix stand up special, Urzila heads an all-star lineup of comedy superstars that promise to make this a night to remember. $5 from each ticket sold will go to supporting Shine, including their North Shore Womens Refuge. Make sure that you've got extra cash with you for the charity auctions that will be held to support Labour Auckland North and Shine.

About Shine:
Shine operates two women’s refuges in Auckland, including the only women's' refuge on the North Shore, offering short-term accommodation for women and their children who are at risk of further harm from domestic abuse. Shine's refugees are at confidential addresses and offer warmth, shelter, safety, food and clothing, and a supportive environment for families. Shine staff provide residents with practical information and support to access Work and Income benefits, support groups, counselling, housing, and lawyers, as well as provide emotional support to families in their time of need.

About the comedians:
Urzila Carlson
Ex-pat South African and now NZ’s own, Urzila Carlson is one of New Zealand's most loved comedians.
Since taking the comedy stage in 2008 she has racked up an impressive array of awards and is now a regular on our TV screens.
Urzila's natural cheeky, straight up style will have you eating out of her hand* the moment she takes the stage and you’ll want to be her friend.

Justine Smith
Those who know Justine, or have seen her perform, will know she does not suffer fools gladly. Her charming and expressive performance takes her audience along the journey with her, while never far from a punch line or a subtle gag using the rise of an eyebrow.
This Christchurch girl made good, now residing in West Auckland, there’s not a lot that gets past Justine. If you were to try and define Justine as a lover or a fighter, you'd have to say both. She is capable of tearing strips off people on stage and then buying them a drink after the show.

Pax Assadi
Pax is regarded as one of the most exciting young acts in the country by his peers and audiences alike. Pax was nominated for the Billy T Award in 2013 with only 2 two years of comedy under his belt. He has gone on to appear on a number of local television shows Including TV One's panel show Word Up, TV 3s 7 Days, Maori TVs Crack Up and a regular on the critically acclaimed Brown Eye.

John Carr
Better known in Otahuhu as the J Doggg or The Godfather of Geriatric Rap, John Carr is the first performer to make to make the difficult transition from hard-edged street rap to stand-up comedy without missing a beat. Giving up a 55-year quest to be taken seriously, Carr joined the world of stand-up comedy in 2010 and hasn't looked back. He has become a popular performer in Auckland, has a cult following in Hamilton, and gets completely ignored by audiences in Browns Bay.

Vaughan King (MC)
Seen all around New Zealand on The Real NZ Tour … Vaughan is on the road more than most comedians so has a great down to earth connection with what is good Kiwi funny. Award winner including best M.C., best show, most offensive gag and best greenroom (Comedian to hang out with!) in the annual NZ Comedy Guild Awards!
