Would you like to know more about what lies beneath the surface off the east coast of the North Island?

Join us for a free public talk by leading NZ scientists at Carterton Events Centre. Learn about the latest scientific research into New Zealand’s largest fault.

Scientists will detail what they currently know about the Hikurangi subduction zone, slow slip events, earthquakes, tsunami and our risk.

They will also discuss the diverse scientific research projects underway to understand our subduction zone.
