Research has shown that outstanding teachers are intentional, they do things on purpose. They are always thinking about what they are doing and how it will foster children's development and produce real and lasting learning (Epstein, 2007).

Children learn best by play and their play should be free. Teachers need to be thoughtful, playful, purposeful and to respond intentionally to children's learning.

During the course of this workshop, we will be exploring what it means to be an intentional teacher. We will be discussing planning, assessment for learning, documentation and how to authentically respond to children's learning with sensitivity and respect. We will also be exploring how to decide "what learning matters here" as well as how to engage more parent and whanau participation in their child's learning and assessment.

This is a practical hands-on workshop so please bring along your the assessment and planning document that you are currently working on a great workshop for the whole team!

This workshop is funded under the Strengthening Early Learning Outcomes (SELO 2) programme by the Ministry of Education so there is no charge for attending. Spaces are limited and first come first served.

Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea are provided (please advise dietary requirements).

Group size is limited, claim your spot today.
