An excellent 4-week course focusing on realistic portraiture in acrylic paint. Over each of the 2.5 hour weekly classes you will learn about creating skin tones, how to paint detail in facial features and work towards producing a portrait of your choice.

Classes are a maximum of 6, allowing for an exceptional amount of one-on-one tuition, and all skill levels are catered for.

Materials are provided in full for the first 2 weeks, and paints/brushes are available in the studio for the whole course. The first 2 weeks of the course you will be doing studies from photos (which Charlotte is providing) to focus on certain aspects of the face, and then you can choose your own portrait image for the 2nd half of the course.

You will need to get canvas for your chosen portrait (go as big or as small as you like!) and print out the photo you want to use (try not to use a photo on your phone). Feel free to do a different portrait during weeks 3 and 4, or just focus on 1 painting with lots of attention to detail.

The course takes place at Charlotte's home studio gallery in New Plymouth. Booking is essential. Suitable for ages 14 and over. Some experience with acrylics and colour mixing will be helpful for you to get the most out of the course.

$195 for 4 week course.

Contact Charlotte for more info or to book a place - or visit the website to see further classes available.
