Can we ever know whether unicorns exist or existed? Science takes for its subject the nature of the world. Philosophy of science focuses on the elements, assumptions, and problems of scientific inquiry.

This course will look at a range of problems in modern science, from the nature of knowledge to a range of ethical issues. We will also reflect on the history of what we call science, and how it has changed over the centuries.
