Muriwai Arts

With its magnificent landscape, expansive horizon, unspoilt environment and deep, underlying sense of spirituality, Muriwai Beach, 35 minutes west of Auckland, has long been an inspirational home to New Zealand artists.

Muriwai Arts is dedicated to raising the profile of this beautiful and unique west coast region, specifically in terms of the abundance of artistic talent that is found here.

Building on our previous success we will once again stage a major art event incorporating the work of over 50 local artists, including a comprehensive group exhibition at the Muriwai Surf Lifesaving Club, artists' open studios around Muriwai (see the Muriwai Arts Open Studios event) and a film night/matinee.

Among our many contributors are numerous well-known, internationally renowned artists who’ll be submitting all-original works across a variety of media (photography, painting, ceramics, carving, jewellery, sculpture, weaving and more). All works will be for sale and entry is by gold coin donation.

Muriwai Arts is excited to present 2 screenings of local short films and documentaries, made by our local filmmakers, during our 2019 event. Join us on Saturday 6th April from 7pm or on Sunday at 2pm, as well as a collaborative work created by local children.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to see some sensational new art, Auckland’s west coast at its best, and these talented locals in their element, at the Muriwai Arts Group Show 2019.
