Register today and experience how to face your life with an empowered positive mind!

Mindfulness is a very powerful tool in facilitating you to face challenges and create opportunity in life. “Smile! It is life: Mastering the art of joy through mindful living” is an enlightening session on mindful living which aims to offer you and your family ways to interpret your daily challenges and how to overcome them.

Dr Kwong Djee Chan (Eric) is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education and the Internationalisation Lead of Griffith School of Medicine in Queensland Australia. He received his Medical training in Taiwan (Kaohsiung Medical University) and his PhD from Griffith University School of Applied Psychology, focusing on grief and loss support training. As a Thanatologist (Life and Death Scholar) he received his Master of Arts in Life and Death Studies from Nan Hua University in 2001. Dr Chan is also a holistic counsellor trained in Australia (2003).

As the Stream Lead of the Professional Communication and History Taking Stream in the Griffith MD program, Dr Chan introduced structured mindfulness practice into the School of Medicine in 2011, medical students have been able to apply mindfulness for exam preparation and performance anxiety management. His area of research in health education includes communication skills learning and teaching, application of mindfulness, health students’ social media behaviour, admission selection, resilience building, reflective practice and development and implementation of contemplative pedagogy in health education.

We would like to invite you to join Dr Chan and explore ways to bring joy and satisfaction into your everyday life.

In addition to that, we also have Christchurch City Choir who are the 2018 National Champions, Maori Group Performances from the Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu and many more lovely shows to keep you and your loved ones entertained!

This is definitely an event for you and your love ones to enjoy, learn and grow!
