The Cabana is going to Rock, Groove and Blues out this summer when the AA Solar Summer Music Series hits the road. The series is one of the greatest touring shows on the road this summer featuring New Zealand’s greatest Blues Guitarist, Billy TK Jnr and Irish International master rock vocalist, Ronan Kavanagh with special guest support artist Soul & Rock chick Fiona Cosgrove and Willie Hona.

Willie Hona needs no introduction. The former frontman for NZ’s legendary reggae band Herbs is a well known cultural icon with his Kiwi anthems, ‘Long Ago’, ‘Nuclear Waste’ and ‘Listen’ becoming a prerequisite of backyard parties across the nation and a feature of Herbs shows.
In 2012, Hona was inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame as part of Herbs. On April 6th, 2019 an epic ‘rockumentary’ about Herbs will blaze across New Zealand telling the story of Herbs and Willie.

After leaving Herbs at the end of 1988, Hona toured under his own steam and released the album Keep An Open Heart and worked in California with members of west coast country rock bands The Rowan Brothers and Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. In 1996 he made his home in Australia, working nonstop as a solo artist, in duos or with pickup bands, firstly on the Whitsunday Coast, Queensland, and then in Northern New South Wales before returning to New Zealand where he now lives. He will again bring his brand of awesome reggae to audiences across New Zealand.
