Visiting teacher Khenpo Chopal from Nepal will give a weekend teaching of the Tibetan Buddhist A-Z of the path to enlightenment, suitable for the curious, beginners, and experienced buddhist practitioners alike.

We are fortunate to be hosting Khenpo Chopal's New Zealand teaching about the actions of body and mind which take you towards enlightenment!

Khenpo gives regular teachings to westerners and is from the Drikung Kagu Rinchen Ling monastery in Nepal, he also has two centres in America. His bio is at the bottom of this page. This teaching goes back to Tibet's greatest Yogi Masters and teachers and Khenpo carries the blessings of this esteemed lineage. The Stages of the Path teaching comes from Mahamudra which is profound and powerful.

This will be a rich weekend of practical life wisdom and mindful methods, so bring paper, pen and a cushion if you prefer the floor to a chair, and join us for lunch nearby if you wish.

Teaching are by donation to make them accessible to all. Suggested donation is $30.00 per day.

Khenpo Chopal is a Tibetan Lama born in Tibet in 19___.

A monk at the age of 14, he was a student of Drikung Thil Monastery, the first and main Drikung Kagyu Monastery founded in 1179 by Kyopa Jigten Sumgön, approximatey 150 kilometers northeast of Lhasa in Tibet and received high collective vows from his root Guru, Noble Bhikshu Pachung Rinpoche and the great Abbott, Retreat Master, Bhikshu Tanzin Nyima Rinpoche.

For many years, Khenpo has received comprehensive multifaceted Buddha Dharma teachings. He studied philosophy and debate, and highly fulfilled solitary retreat of “The Five-fold Profound Path of Mahamudrā.”

Following his many years of practice, he achieved Khenpo status and received designation as an extraordinary Chanting Master.

Currently, Khenpo resides in the U.S. and Nepal, alternately - guiding meditation retreats in several Dharma centers in America and teaching Drikung lineage traditional rituals, chanting and philosophy in Drikung Rinchenling Monastery in Nepal.
