Musical play enables us to follow the child, opening up an imaginative, magical world of possibilities. It can support daily routines, take the stress out of difficult situations, and help children to regulate their behaviour, engage with others and express their creativity.

Julie is a former Early Childhood Music Advisor for the Ministry of Education and a former lecturer in Early Childhood Development at the Christchurch College of Education. Her philosophy of musical play is based on 30 years of experience in her Julie Wylie School of Music, working with young children aged 0–8 years and their families, and through a lifetime of parenting, being a grandparent and working closely with highly experienced therapists in an Early Intervention Programme at the Champion Centre.

Julie is a popular presenter of musical play workshops for parents, teachers and therapists in New Zealand and internationally. These informative and practical workshops will take you on an exciting musical journey.

An outline of each session, and information about how to register, can be found at Julie's website: http://juliewyliemusic.com/event/the-science-art-and-psychology-of-musical-play-workshop-series/,
or on her Musical Play Facebook page.
