A tale of love and desire - Workshop and Kunqu opera.

In a drowsy trance, a woman dreams of a secret rendezvous with a handsome scholar. Or was it just a dream? Longing and desire deepen as the boundary between reality and dream begins to blur.

The Peony Pavilion is a masterpiece by Tang Xianzu, the great 16th-century Chinese playwright. In a refined and languidly poetic style, Chinese opera star Dong Fei performs his signature role as the female lead in this classic Kunqu opera.

Find out more from Dong Fei and the cast who will give an interactive demonstration of the key elements of Kunqu opera and discuss the highlights of The Peony Pavilion.

Bookings essential - normal admission fee applies.
Performance: 4 February - Adult $9, Concession $6 plus normal admission fee applies
