The Nukes from West Auckland are far more than a ukulele band. Part vaudeville, part rat-pack, part musical car crash, this talented trio deliver an engaging mix of humour and originality that audiences of all ages will love. The innocent little uke is the instrument of choice and people will be staggered by what the Nukes are able to achieve with it. Great song-writing, musicianship and 3-part harmony combine to create a truly memorable, entertaining experience. Aotearoa’s favourite original ukulele trio began life in a humble but spectacular fashion way back in the heady days of 2008. Founded by Dave Parker, Ben Collier and Dave ‘Snapper’ Thiele, The Nukes promptly set about carving themselves a cozy niche in the cutthroat world of the New Zealand ukulele scene. Many roads have been travelled in the decade since, many songs have been sung and many challenges overcome.

Now, with the soul wrenching retirement of the inimitable Snapper Thiele, The Nukes face a turn in the road and a fresh set of possibilities.

Dave and Ben have recruited multi-instrumentalist Mike Burrows to help ease their aching hearts, kiss their boo boos and make it all better. What will this mysterious stranger bring to the party? Only time will tell.

Li'l Chuck The One Man Skiffle Machine
is an authentic one man band performing
“good time music with old time style”
Having spent a lifetime rummaging through the drawers of 1930's - 50's music, Chuck’s mostly original songs are inspired by the sounds of the era - Blues, Early Jazz, Western Swing, Ragtime etc. and are uniquely presented in the style of street performers from those glory days. Sticking to the traditional one man band format, Chuck plays all the instruments simultaneously.
The Backyard Skiffle band

What did The Beatles, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, Van Morisson and Queen's Brian May all do before they became rock gods?

They grabbed Granny's washboard, Mum's best cutlery, Dad's busted broom and an old tea chest out of the loft and formed a band!

It's time to take a nostalgic journey back to the 1950's Skiffle boom in England when the kids turned everyday household items into great music and went on to make rock history.

This interactive family show features lots of quirky old time instruments and a hideous amount of crashing, banging and chaos. Let’s call it a music & history lesson rolled into one… with a touch of mayhem and a big dollop of good humour.

Parents be very afraid, your pots and pans will never be safe in the cupboard again.
