The Sisters of Compassion mark the 100th anniversary of the 1918 Influenza Pandemic.

The story of the Sisters of Compassion during the influenza pandemic will be told in a temporary exhibition opening at the Home of Compassion. The pandemic came at the end of a devastating war and struck Wellington between November and December. Wellington had the highest death rate of the cities.

The exhibition will be open from 11th November 2018 - 31s March 2019 at Our Lady’s Home of Compassion, 2 Rhine Street (off Murray Street), Island Bay, Tue-Sat 10am-3pm; Sun 12noon-3pm.
