Presents the Housewarmers featuring Ted Clarke.

$10 (cash only) cover charge, ABMC members $5.

The House Warmers will be heating things up the at the Thirsty Dog. Ted Clarke is an Auckland icon in the live music scene and has been singing blues since The Backdoor Blues Band played every bar in town during the 80’s and 90’s.

Now Ted is more focused on his craft than ever blending a raft of beautifully crafted originals with his own interpretation of classics. Ted and Paul been collaborating for several years as The House Warmers.

The duo will perform songs from Ted’s critically acclaimed album “Wildlife” as well as material cowritten for an album The House Warmers are currently recording. Their set will include a liberal dose of Blues, Soul and Roots, Rock n Roll classics that have influenced their music over the years.

Ted Clarke is one of this country’s best front men. He first gained a national audience through extensive touring with two of NZ’S most popular live acts of the 1980’s and 90’s, “The Backdoor Blues band” and “The NZ Blues brothers Revue”.

In more recent years he cemented his reputation as a consummate live performer with his swing show band “Del Piranha and his Rhythm Kings”. During this time he also released the hugely successful ‘Wildlife’ album written with Mike Farrell. Ted is also an experienced actor with numerous TV and film appearances. He is also well known and respected for his philanthropy and commitment to charity work.

Paul Brownlee is one on NZs as sought after and talented musician who has performed throughout NZ with a diverse range of bands such as The Red Squad, Acid Casualty, Satellitas & Deep Fried.

His musical roots are firmly in blues, with a passion for the music of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Freddie King. Paul is currently focusing more of his musical energy on writing for various recording projects.

You can expect great songs delivered with passion, infused with searing harmonica and soulful blues guitar, be sure to put this Sunday aside and come on down and enjoy what will be a fantastic show.
