Drum roll please…introducing our brand new Banana Boat New Zealand Ocean Swim Series Auckland event – The Gem! Stunning Omaha beach plays host to this awesome new event with something for everyone, set in one of the most idyllic beaches in the region.

White soft sand, gentle rolling waves, a chilled out vibe and fantastic swimming conditions – Omaha is truly one of Auckland’s (not so hidden) gems!

For many years beach-lovers have made the pilgrimage to Omaha, seeking a slice of paradise, just over an hour from central Auckland. Daytrippers and those craving a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city can feel the sense of relaxation and seaside serenity as soon as you hit the beach…

We’ve decided to shake things up for our Auckland swim event and The Gem is set to knock your socks (or flippers!) off with a range of swim options for all ages, abilities and ambitions. From a 3.5km long swim taking you from the estuary to the ocean, to 1km and 500m distances and three OceanKids swims all off the main beach, The Gem is guaranteed to deliver an awesome day out and the swim of your life.

The Jetstar Super Swim Squad has been an awesome fixture for the past 5 years as part of Jetstar’s sponsorship. Jetstar has chosen to move on this season so unfortunately there won’t be a Squad Camp but we still have loads of great rewards for swimmers in our Banana Boat OceanKids Series, including a finishers medal, photo and video!

Following over a decade of incredible swim events on Auckland’s North Shore, with the former King of the Bays swim, a change of scenery and commitment to ensuring we operate our events in the cleanest possible water conditions has motivated our move to Omaha – we can’t wait to see you there.
