How does your phone know where you are?

Massey University Engineering Lecturer, Dr. Faraz Hasan will give an interactive lecture explaining the technology behind Global Positioning (GPS) on Thursday 15 March from 6-7:30pm at Rotorua Library.

Find out how GPS technology allows your phone to know where you are, give you directions and measure your walking distance.

Dr. Faraz Hasan is a Senior Lecturer in Communication Engineering and Networks and, while the topic of GPS is complex, this talk will offer plain English insights into how the technology works and how it might work in the future. The talk will be interactive and you do not need to have any prior knowledge to come along.

The talk will be held in the Discovery Space on the Second Floor of Rotorua Library, Te Aka Mauri, 1127 Haupapa St, Rotorua.

This event is free although gold coin koha is appreciated and booking is required.
