Kroon for your Kai is a lovely wee event that happens here at our place every Wednesday from 6.30pm.

Local singer-songwriters come along and literally sing for their supper - they entertain our guests, we make sure they're fed!

On Wednesday 12th of September, in honour of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), we've booked an extra special line-up of talented Te Reo fluent performers, who will be sharing with us with some beautiful Waiata in exchange for their kai. Come down and enjoy with us!

The lineup:
Ruby Mae Hinepunui Solly is a Ngai Tahu writer and musician. She is currently completing a masters of music therapy developing her use of taonga pūoro within her practice. In her spare time she enjoys singing and composing waiata, some of which she will be sharing with you tonight.

Lee Stuart is a vocalist and producer delivering some mellow waiata through a soulful medium. A graduate from Te Koki; New Zealand School of music, Lee is just as comfortable singing jazz as she is with waiata and producing her own style of RnB.

Melissa Bailey is a soulful vocalist who works in jazz, soul, and barbershop. Melissa has performed with Embellished chorus, who have performed on the TV show ‘The Naked Choir’. A unique artist, who is able to support other musicians just as well as she is able to hold her own as a solo vocalist, tonight she is lending her voice to music close to her heart; waiata. Melissa will treat you with a range of familiar favourites from waiata hou to favourites.
