The Sirens & Sounds Community Trust presents the 6th ‘Sirens & Sounds’ Safety & Careers Festival.
This ’Fun Way’ to present Vital Information is a full day of non-stop action suitable for all.

See how the NZ Police, Fire Emergency New Zealand and St John Ambulance really respondin emergencies, with visual displays and interactive learning for everyone. Watch police dogs skilfully mastering an obstacle course, see what the Marine Police do to keep us safe on the water.

Ever thought about a career in these services? Meet local heroes and find out whatit takes to be one yourself by visiting the Police, Fire, and St John exhibits or visit potential employees for future career / employment opportunites with the NZ Defence Forces or the Building and Roading Construction industries.

On-stage: MC Michael Alofa plus guests, with all-day fun activities, cultural acts, challenges and giveaways, Elvis - yes Elvis!, Cook Island Dance Troupe, Red Studio Dance Crew, Mothers of Divine Mercy, Avondale College Samoan Dance Group and more…

In the field: Promoking Bouncy Castles, Jump Trampolines, Face Painting, Balloons, Superhero Characters.

Celebrity guest: Santa arriving in the Police Helicopter spreading early Christmas cheer
Big Rigs - Displays & Challenges: The Vodafone Warriors and Tu Kaha Foundation Mobile Classroom. This massive 600hp Mack Super-Liner Truck and trailer unit is 23 metres long. When opened up it creates a large classroom space complete with a big screen.

Auckland Rugby will be there with challenges, tackle bags and a 10m long scrummaging machine lane along with guest players for signatures, NZ Defence force will be bringing a Super Seasprite helicopter, Airport Fire Truck, Light Field Gun with Pinzgauer (LOV) and interactive challenges.

Cultural & community: Maori Woodcarving Demos, Basket Weaving Tuition plus Local community groups and providers.

Food stalls: A variety of ethnic food stalls / caravans including the Coca-Cola Community Caracooler, Atomic Coffee Caravan provided by Avondale's new local, Browne St.
