New Zealand Maritime Museum, Corner Quay & Hobson Streets, Auckland CBD

All Ages

Official Website

Our January holiday programme is inspired by our current exhibition Knot Touch, which is a tactile exhibition celebrating the versatility and traditions of knots.

Celebrate maritime tradition with macramé workshops, interactive tours with museum characters and explore the ‘touch friendly’ Knot Touch exhibition.

Visitors can choose to do all three activities or pick and mix!

Activities are available every day during the school holidays and are suitable for children aged 4 to 12 from 10am - 3pm each day.

I Haven’t a Crew Interactive Tour - $5 per child.
Who would you want in your crew? Join our unique maritime characters as they search our gallery walls to find the best crew to set sail with.

Craft Workshop - $5 per child
Make and take home a macramé friendship bands with our lovely hosts.

Sailing on Ted Ashby - $25 per adult, $12 per child, $50 family pass
Ted Ashby is a ketch-rigged deck scow, typical of the fleet of scows that once operated in northern New Zealand waters. You can climb aboard for a one hour experience with her knowledgeable crew.

It's a good idea to pre-book your ticket, although remaining spaces will be available for purchase from the Museum shop on the day.
