Rope Fundamentals Level 1, playfully introduces you to the elemental skills of Shibari. Suited to both absolute beginners or those with prior experience, we aim for students to leave having had a fun, yet solid introduction to a foundation in Japanese rope bondage.

This workshop focuses on the elemental skills of basic anatomy, safety, boundaries and consent, rope selection, simple ties and positioning, how to create a scene, all wrapped up with embodied guidance. And did we mention safety??

Unless you have booked, paid and choose to work as a couple, participants will be paired randomly, so will need to be open to working with all genders.

There is no nudity and everyone's boundaries will be upheld with the utmost care and respect.

We welcome people of all genders, sexual orientations and relationship statuses into the space. If you're human and curious then this is a space for YOU !

This experiential learning environment is a fun, hands on experience for curious people wanting to explore and learn in a safe space. Its also a great way to meet new people, push your edges and try something new!

We understand that somethings in life can be daunting. If this is one of those things for you and you would like the support of being walked and welcomed into the space then please message Terri on terri.e.sexcoach@gmail.com

PLEASE NOTE: There is a Rope Fundamentals Level 2 being held on Sunday 18th and participants are welcomed and encouraged to book for both days.

YOUR FACILITATORS

SCARLET DARLING
After stumbling into BDSM in the UK 13 years ago, Scarlet has been teaching Shibari (Japanese rope bondage) in NZ since 2011 and now runs Auckland's only dedicated shibari dojo. After a short career as a piano and ballroom dance teacher, she decided that kink was the life for her and became a full time Dominatrix, devoting her time to the study of human sexuality, anatomy and shibari. She has worked with many of shibari’s ‘big names’ in Australia, Japan and Europe and regularly arranges workshops with international presenters to help progress the Auckland community’s exposure to this art form. Passionate about kink education, Scarlet runs weekly shibari workshops and monthly BDSM workshops from her dojo in West Auckland.

Rope work is her first love in the kink world, closely followed by sadomasochism and energy exchange. In her personal play she most commonly uses connective rope, ‘semenawa’ (sadistic rope bondage), hojojutsu (the martial arts of rope), and suspension, but is comfortable teaching and answering questions on all things rope and kink related. Equally happy tying or being tied, you can usually find her with rope in her hand.
