  • Summer workshop for young woodworkers: $300.00

Summer holidays workshop for keen young woodworkers 15th-19th January 2018, aged 10 and above.

At Rekindle's Resourceful Ōtautahi workshop at the Albert Hall, Ferrymead Heritage Park, Ferrymead, Ōtautahi Christchurch.

This workshop includes 21 hours of tuition and runs across 5 days, starting with some shorter sessions, and finishing with 2 full days.

If you're a keen young woodworker, aged 10 and above, this gives you a unique opportunity to make a stool with traditional greenwood-working tools.

You'll need to be accompanied by an adult for at least the first couple of sessions, please contact us to discuss any support needs: info@rekindle.org.nz

This workshop gives skills with ancient traditional tools & techniques including axe, draw-knife, shaving horse, and you will get to learn to use the lathe to turn your stool legs etc. You'll make your own greenwood stool from beautiful locally harvested ash & elm.

There are 6 places available in this workshop and booking is essential, and non-refundable. This course will need to be fully booked to go ahead.

The price covers a portion of the: tutor's wage, workshop rent, materials & the labour to collect them, tools & their maintenance, electricity, insurance & other overheads. We are working to keep workshop prices as low as we possibly can.
