At 10am Annie Malloy, John Paul 2 Head Girl and Kate Campbell, Greymouth High School Head Girl, will jointly plant a Kate Sheppard camellia. This will be followed by an organised march down the Mackay Street footpath, crossing over to Tainui Street's Town Square for a Suffrage 125 welcome address and the re enactment of the 1893 'Race to the Polling Booth'.

Descendants of the early pioneer groups, such as the Christian Temperance Union and National Council of Women will lead the march. Banners and flags are welcome, as are representations from other groups such as YWCA, CWI, WDFF etc.

After the welcome address in the Town Square the re enactment race between the descendants of Mrs McPherson and Mrs Benyon will take place, presentations to the best dressed spectators, followed by a Suffrage 125 group photo.

At 11am a further event 'Celebrating our region's pioneer women' will be held at the Greymouth Regent Theatre at $20pp. Tickets can be pre-purchased from the Theatre.
