Zine culture arose from the advent of the photocopier and the spirit of anarcho-punk and DIY culture. In conjunction with Central City Library and OUT@AUT, AUT’s Art & Design Queer Reading Group, led by Richard Orjis, will run free a workshop that explores this dynamic, low-fi, low-cost mode of publication.

Assembling text and image together, we will use the provocation ‘what is queer ecology?’ to generate individual or collaborative creative responses in a fun and open-ended way. Poetry, prose, fragmented thought, found imagery, recorded movement, collage and drawing will all be welcome. The final zine will be bound together in print and available online.

This free workshop will be held on the ground floor in the Makerspace. No RSVP necessary.
