Sorry this event has been and gone

  • Sun 9 Sep ’18, 2:15pm – 4:30pm

Geraldine Academy of Performance and Arts, 79 Talbot Street, Geraldine

Ticket Information:

  • Workshop Admission: $10.25

An afternoon sewing workshop in Geraldine with Maryclare Wood, who teaches at Opihi College, on upcycling clothes such as jackets, skirts and frocks using fabric scraps and spare items, to make original fashion statements.

Tee shirts can be converted into shopping bags, too.

Bring your own sewing machine, extension lead, garments to work on (which already fit you) and be ready to share fabric and haberdashery items – your unwanted colours, buttons, applique or trims could be another’s great find. Your tutor will also bring in some items to share.

Limited numbers. $10. Must pre-book at Event Brite and preferably bring in a sewing machine. Materials & Equipment list available for those who book: Enquiries: rhys@sustainableliving.org.nz

Why not combine with other events in our Geraldine Sustainability Weekend Festival of Learning: see Future Living Skills brunch at 11am (pre-book on Eventfinda) and Sustainability Documentary 'Edible Paradise' in the Cinema at 1pm (tickets at door).
