The pictures of R G Shaw, shown here, are a reminder of life's fragile nature, we think its all clear cut and next minute we see the world from different eyes.

The mask slips and our identikit scrambles. Images of the self disintegrate and fragments fall, unconnected, without reference and free.

Media includes Collage, Ink, Paint, 24ct Gold, Lead, Copper, Silver, Time, Money, Coins, Paper, Canvas, Contemplations, Words, Biro, Pencil, Quill, Brush, Rain Water, Dirt, Charcoal, Moonlight, Clay, Champagne.

I live in Kawhia n Hamilton. I work primarily in an Avant-Pop expressionist style, using oil, acrylic, collage, discarded objects, paper, ink, gold, lead, assemblage and sound.

The works in this show are mostly 'Symbolic Recognition Experiments'. A body of collage and ink works, fragments and identity. Most of them fitting into the ongoing 'Head-Works & psychogeography' series.

The canvas paintings I show in the contextual framework of the landscape tradition.
This later period of paintings involve a heavier blend of image and text, notes of and from a rapidly changing time and place.

Psycho-geographies from the conscious and thinking (head)-land. New New Zealand.
