Wild Dunedin

NatureHQ is our festival base. Come and see us, we'd love to see you... just up from the Octagon on Princes Street.

Events listed below and videos, displays, competitions, see the Wild Dunedin Kiwi Guardians medal, get stickers and programme information.

- 11-12pm - Ribbonwood Nurseries - Philip dunn tells us about the best native plants for an urban garden.
- 12.30-1.30pm - Face painting with Tahu Mackenzie. Be like one of the creatures that live at Orokonui Ecosanctuary.
- 2-3pm - Peripatus - Dave Randle and Tahu Mackenzie. Dunedin is one of three cities in the world where Peripatus live. Make a home for them, see them close up and hear the Peripatus song.

- 10-12pm - Join DOC and their community companions to sow your very own Kowhai seeds and earn a Wild Dunedin Kiwi Guardians medal. Take them home and nurture until large enough to plant in your garden.
- 1-3pm - Become a pest detective and make your own tracking tunnel. Take it home to see what's lurking in your garden and redeem a Kiwi Guardians Pest detective medal.

- 10.30-11.30 & 1-2pm - choose an art workshop session to make a designer insect hotel with Kerry and Pamela from theartdept.org. Parents welcome to make one too. Max 20/workshop $2 materials cost per hotel.

- 11am - Puppet Pop-up - Meet a NZ Sealion, a dancing penguin, Pukekos and Kakapo and the wildest critter of all, live storyteller Kaitrin McMullan. Koha donation
- 12.30 -2pm - Wild Origami - make wildlife out of folded paper - donation to Dunedin Wildlife Hospital
1pm - Come and find out about Dunedin's Wildlife Hospital
