Mahi Toi is an Educational Programme for teachers and students during Terms 2 and 3, on Tuesdays through Thursdays.

Supported by T G Macarthy Trust. Bookings essential.

Aratoi presents this unique programme to learn about the local stories of the Wairarapa region through viewing taonga from our Museum collection and participating in activities designed around the taonga.

Five programmes to choose from:
1 - Tukutuku/traditional latticework and patterns
2 - Poi
3 - Portraits
4 - Korowai/cloaks
5 - Huia.

Each programme consists of:
- Local story relating to a museum collection piece or exhibition
- Viewing of the collection piece or exhibition
- Activity designed on the collection piece or exhibition
- Links to the curriculum and follow-on activities to do back at the centre/school

Booking information.
For terms 2 and 3
Self-guided, or led by an educator. Approximately 75 minutes long.
A Museum Educator will be available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays for 3 sessions a day (9:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm).

This programme is free-of-charge. Schools/centres must organise their own transport.
