Ticket Information:

  • One Day Photography workshop: $260.00

This is a one day coastal and long exposure photography workshop on Wellington’s South Coast with award-winning photographer Richard Young. On this workshop, you’ll learn how to shoot dramatic and awe-inspiring coastal landscapes and make long exposure photographs.

We will start by having a look at some of the best settings for coastal and long exposure photography. Once everyone is up to speed and introduced we will spend the rest of the day exploring Wellingtons South Coast, finishing with the chance to shoot the sunset.

Long exposure photography requires the use of ND filters (we have some to borrow if you don't have your own) so you can use longer shutter speeds to create beautiful effects with movement in water and clouds.

Capturing images like this requires excellent technique and some knowledge. By joining this workshop you’ll be guided in the techniques needed as well as learning how to take some amazing coastal photographs.

Topics covered:
- Coastal composition and tips
- Calculating exposures with ND filters
- Achieving focus for landscape images
- Using ND, Grad & Polarising filters

Class size:
Our one day workshops run on a maximum ratio of 1:5, limiting class sizes allows us to provide you with the best learning environment possible, including expert guidance, instruction, and personal attention according to your learning style.

The workshop price includes:
- Guide to Landscape Photography
- Pocket long exposure card
- Tuition from Richard Young
- Tea/coffee and a muffin
- Printing Voucher from WPS
