Trinity Methodist Church’s summer season of Jazz Vespers continues. Each month the hour-long Vespers uses Jazz Music to explore spirituality alongside short reflections and prayer. Jazz is not only as played at Vespers as performance art but as spiritual music.

Jazz Vespers contains elements of a concert and a worship service; offering opportunity for reflection through the notes of music and verse. This evening's music will be offered by Anthony Mullany (solo vocal and guitar).

Jazz in the church is a conversation:
- Between musicians and the music
- Between the musicians themselves and
- Between the music and the hearer.
- God is always part of that conversation which may be challenging or comforting, but in the setting of faith and among the people of God, it will never be completed.

There is no ticket cost... but donations are invited (say $5 per person) are invited at the Vespers to support the Methodist Church’s objective of “Let the children live”. The musicians contribute their music for free.

This year's recipient is the Colenso School for Teenage Parents. (Jazz Vespers raised funds for such local organisations as the Napier Women's Refuge, Napier Women's Refuge and Hawkes Bay Youth Diabetes, Youth Directions - suicide prevention).

The current Summer Season runs each month through to April 2018.

Future dates are: January 21st, February 18th – Art Deco, March 25th, April 22nd.
