From 1942 -1944 there were between 15,000 – 45,000 American service men and women at any given time in New Zealand.

As part of NZ Archaeology Week, Auckland Council’s community heritage officer Mary Kienholz will discuss the US military camps in Pukekohe and what still remains of these camps today.

The talk will also cover a general discussion about this period in Pukekohe’s history. We invite attendees to come and share stories that they know about or experienced from this time.
