Walk the city in a small group with an entertaining Aucklander. In two hours, your friendly guide will reveal the sights and stories of interest to both visitors and curious locals.

Leave the crowds behind and delve into hidden laneways, art, serene parks and Auckland’s Māori heritage. Together you'll hop on the local's bus uptown to explore a vibrant neighbourhood and the city's theatre precinct. (We'll show you how to travel around Auckland for less.)

Your small-group tour starts downtown on historic Queen Street. Your local guide will walk you away from the Harbour, through the city’s hidden laneways, past local cafes, street art and boutiques to an early Māori fortress and a park with a military secret. Along the way you'll hear about Auckland's early Maori history and its European colonisation.

You’ll discover Auckland’s stunning Art Gallery and Suffragette Square before hopping together on the locals' bus to vibrant uptown. Here you'll wander through a grand arcade and browse the wares of local shop owners. A gentle stroll through a bird-filled valley (with a shameful past) returns you to upper Queen St by the Auckland Town Hall, where your guide bids you “Haere Ra” or farewell.

This is the 'all-you-need-to-know' Auckland walking tour with a popular local guide. Book online.
