Join Te Papa botanist Leon Perrie as he offers insights into some of the evolutionary stories behind New Zealand plants.

We’ll explore flowers that are deceptively intricate, divaricating plants, mast flowering and we’ll touch upon mātauranga (Māori knowledge) e.g., whakapapa and why the scaly tree ferns are descended from fishes, Māui's fire trees.

Meet at the Information Centre at 2pm.
