Two Artists - a Sculptor and a painter - focusing on the figure - a visual feast for 14 days.

Suzanne Emslie.

I think my work is forever evolving as much as I am a person and as an artist.
I think I've experienced a huge growth in both carving in stone and building in clay - helping me find balance and style with form...

Using a little exaggeration and sense of fun in the work, most centre round the female figure - playing with the form, balance and body language. I hold a Master of Visual Arts with Merit.

"Women are gorgeous
Aesthetically and sensually
They are beautiful, particularly with a few bumps and curves."

Christine O'Connor

This exhibition features a combination of my more recent series.

Focusing mostly on the human face and figure. Not just mentally but with high physical energy involving the application of paint, being decisive and bold using a multi range of large brushes and scrapers.

I don’t paint to match your curtains. Striving to paint with intensity, grit and attitude.
Art is for me an emotional journey.

My works are in private and public collections in New Zealand and internationally. I hold a Diploma of Art and Creativity(Honours) The Learning Connexion, International School of Art, Wellington.
