How can collaborations within the business sector reduce slavery and trafficking? What can we do as individuals to support solutions? Join us for an opportunity to broaden your understanding of these global issues.

Guest Speakers:

Matt Friedman, CEO The Mekong Club, Hong Kong
The impact of global business collaboration on slavery and trafficking
The Mekong Club uses an Association model to bring Banking, Manufacturing, Hospitality and Retail together to share their experiences, review available information, and identify industry priorities. By working together, members can develop practical suggestions to add value to a global response to slavery and trafficking.

Matt Friedman worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Thailand, Bangladesh and Nepal for 15 years and then as the Regional Project Manager of the United Nations Inter-Agency Project on Human Trafficking (UNIAP) in Thailand for 6 years.

Healing from extreme human rights abuse: Stories of Inspiration
Hagar International works in Southeast Asia with survivors of slavery, trafficking and abuse and provides intensive trauma recovery services for individuals to be healed and free from their trauma. The Whole Journey with Hagar also includes medical/legal services, educational support, and employment skills training.

Micaela Cronin is a recognised leader at state and national level in Australia after 25 years in the community sector. She served as CEO of MacKillop Family Services, a Catholic community agency for 7 years and was awarded the Robin Clark Memorial Award for service and leadership in the children, youth and family services sector.
