Every month, avid native plant lovers gather to pot up a variety of native plants specifically chosen for the restoration project at Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park (WNHP) in Baverstock Road, Nawton.

The planting plan for WNHP was devised by Waikato University staff and the plants chosen are in accordance with this plan.

What to bring:
- gloves
- morning tea

Restoration of WNHP is a partnership project with the University of Waikato, Waikato Institute of Technology (WINTEC), Tui 2000 Inc, Hamilton City Council, and Hamilton Zoo. We are working with community groups to reconstruct forest types of the Waikato ecological area and peat lakes.

Planting working bees take place at Waiwhakareke on the last Saturday of the month - 9-12. Meet at the car park opposite the zoo in Brymer Road.

See the Waiwhakareke Facebook Page for details or mail Stephanie at friendsofwaiwhakareke@gmail.com if you would like to be added to the mailing list for notices of potting and the working bees.
