PNJA cellist Hyun Jae Lee, 10-year-old cellist studying with Edith Salzmann, has won a first prize in his age group at the International Padova Competition in Italy 2018 and he also received the second prize at the International Viotti-Valsesia Competition, in Varallo.

PNJA pianist Ashani Waiyatillake won first prize at the biennial Wallace National Junior Piano Competition 2018. Ashani, a student of Stephen de Pledge, has been making quite a few headlines recently.

She is the pianist of "Trio Espoir", a group selected for the finals weekend of the CMNZ chamber music competition. Ashani was also selected to participate in the prestigious Curtis Institute Summer Festival in Philadelphia as a scholarship recipient.
