Thneedle & Bow's

While drinking tea, coffee or enjoying a glass of wine, we will be making slippers using an ancient felting technique. The slippers will be made out of wool called roving or carded wool. This is the part of a traditional felt making process before wool is turned into yarn for knitting.

After we add our own unique design to the surface of the slippers, we will agitate the wool fibers with soap and water. We will continue to agitate the wool using different methods until the fibers intertwine and turn into a strong piece of fabric.

The slipper making process requires time and endurance. Everyone will finish at different times. It can take up to six hours but can be done in four hours. You do not have to get wet during this process however, certain character types will enjoy using copious amounts of water so that they can splash around it while whips of wool fly to and fro across the air, spreading wool love across the work space. If this sounds like you, feel free to bring an extra pair of dry clothing.

This is an exclusive small group event:
- I will lead you through the slipper making process on an individual basis throughout the event.
- Learn advance felting techniques in a beginner style, step by step.
- Create your own surface design. Select from a variety of wool bits and other natural fabrics.
- Complete a pair of your very own wool slippers ready to wear or gift to a friend.

Your ticket includes this full event, one on one guided instruction, materials, wool fiber, your finished slippers, one lunch main, one lunch dessert, a tea or coffee, snacks.
