The 73rd UN General Assembly currently underway has become a uniquely defining moment for international politics. In contrast to the rejection of ‘globalism’ by the US President, the NZ Prime Minister stated that “the challenge I wish to issue today is this – together we must rebuild and recommit to multilateralism.

We must redouble our efforts to work as a global community”. Responding to these developments, Dr Kennedy Graham will address the issues of globalism, multilateralism and nationalism.

Ken has extensive experience as a NZ diplomat, UN official, university teacher and Green Party MP. This is a wonderful opportunity to let concerned Christchurch citizens, hear from a NZ expert on global issues and hear how NZ can play a part in shaping world wide institutions.

Since 2013 Dr Graham has been Director of the NZ Centre for Global Studies, a think-tank which researches and advises on global governance, law and citizenship, and related thematic issues of nuclear disarmament, sustainability and climate protection. In addition, he is currently Senior Associate in the Institute for Governance & Policy Studies, Victoria University of Wellington.
