Come and enjoy a programme of music, food and entertainment under the cherry blossom trees celebrating the Japanese culture and the 42-year Sister City connection between Nelson & Miyazu.

The event programme begins at 11:30am & includes: Japanese puppeteer Akiko Miyamoto, calligraphy by New Zealand's only Japanese Grand Master Calligrapher, Akiko Crowther & traditional martial arts.
11.30am: Festival Opening
11.45am: Xylophone Performance
12pm: Big Brush Calligraphy
12.15pm: Shoshin Kendo
12.40pm: Puppet Show "The Three Charms"
1-1.30pm: BREAK
1.30pm: Nelson Aikido
2pm: Japanz.Kidz sing
2.15pm: "Sakura Odori" traditional Japanese dance
2.30pm: Programe Ends

This community event is organised by the Nelson-Miyazu Sister City Association & Nelson Japanese Society, supported by Nelson City Council & Nelmac.

The Nelmac Water Tanker will be onsite from 12.30pm - so bring your water bottle/cup for free water.
