Celebrating Colour, Clay and Creativity.

This year the Wellington Potters' Association celebrates its 60th Ceramicus exhibition, the annual showcase of contemporary ceramics by its members. For the third time the exhibition takes place in conjunction with Splash, the national exhibition of Watercolour New Zealand, at the Academy Galleries on Queens Wharf in Wellington.

It is a unique chance to witness a feast of colour, clay and creativity: From 16 November until 1 December (daily from 10am to 5pm, free entry), Wellingtonians and visitors to the capital have the opportunity to view and purchase the finest pieces of ceramic art. They can vote for their favourite piece to win the People's Choice Award, while also enjoying the painting-filled walls.

This year's guest artist and selector for Ceramicus is poet and ceramic artist Sam Duckor-Jones. He will showcase his pieces alongside new works by members of the association engaging the local community with the varied craft of ceramics.

Wellington Potters Association is very grateful to all its partners and supporters. A big thank you to Creative New Zealand and and of course all other award sponsors and supporters who aid in making this exhibition a special event in the Wellington arts calendar indeed. Not to be missed.
