This session focuses on managing your digital files for family history research. Learn the basics about the care of physical media, and good practice in file naming, file organisation, back-ups, and using the cloud.

Got family history information everywhere and lost control?

How do you craft your family history research projects: do you make notes and write articles on a laptop? Use cloud storage? Save your research on a hard drive? Take digital photos? Share interesting snippets on social media?

Have you got lots of older files you’ve lost control of? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, welcome to the wonderful world of personal digital archives. This is a session for you.

Practical advice on how to get the control back.
