Belly Dance or better described, Oriental Dance, originated from the Middle East and North Africa, mainly Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey.

Belly dancing involves the movement of all parts of the body, but particularly the hips. It is a fantastic way to get fit and flexible, tone your whole body, learn to move more gracefully and build up your confidence!

Arabian Spice wants to share the art form of Belly Dance with others in our community. We are a non-profit group open to all persons interested in Belly Dance/Middle Eastern dance and its many variations and flavors.

We offer the opportunity to learn belly dancing through proper instruction and participate (if you wish) in performances open to the community. This classes are for anyone who likes to dance and is interested in learning not only about this particular style of dance, but also the history and culture surrounding it. It is definitely an experience unlike any other group “sport”!

Belly Dance is a dance form that truly invites people of all ages, sizes, shapes, culture, background, fitness level and personality. We come together not only to have fun and connect with others, but to appreciate ourselves for exactly who we are and in ways we didn’t know existed.

This form of dance is both challenging and fun. A beginner finds herself holding her body in ways she hadn’t before, using muscles she didn’t know existed, and challenging her body in new exciting ways. It doesn’t matter what kind of belly you have! Any belly is perfect for belly dancing. And you don’t even need to show it if you don’t want to!

Learning to belly dance is like teaching your body a new language. It inspires joy, confidence, and helps you to feel ‘at home’ in your body and yourself.

You will learn the movements through specific drills and exercises; acquire fitness and expand your femininity; Develop musicality and grace. Gain self-confidence, have fun and ultimately dance!

Everybody is welcome, no partner required. We teach from beginners to intermediate. Between us, we have more than 20 year experience of the dance.

Here're a few tips to get the most out of the class.
- Wear comfortable clothing.
- Bring a scarf to tie around the hips.
- No shoes necessary as lessons will be barefoot.
- Be ready to have fun.

Try one class or join for a calendar month (or more…)! We have drop-in classes (pay as you go) every Wednesday, and we also have a 4-week (5 hours) course starting on: Wednesday the 5th of December 2018.
