Join us for our next Beehive to Business to hear Hon. Shane Jones outline the economic, environmental and infrastructural developments we can expect to see over the next three years and beyond.

As Cabinet Minister, Hon. Jones holds the portfolios of Forestry, Infrastructure, Regional Economic Development, Associate Finance, Associate State-owned Enterprises, and Associate Transport for New Zealand.

He’ll cover the factors and processes involved in the $3 billion Provincial Growth Fund, and how the newly established Provincial Development Unit will work across government and with industry, communities, iwi and local government to deliver these commitments.

Shane will also touch on the Government’s goal to plant one billion trees over the next 10 years, how Te Uru Rākau, the newly established New Zealand Forestry Service, will play a key role, and what benefits this project will produce in terms of creating jobs and improving the environment.

Minster Jones has a long history of involvement in Parliament, as well as the fisheries sector and New Zealand’s Māori fisheries settlement. His last role outside of Parliament was Ambassador for Pacific Economic Development. Born in Awanui, Northland, New Zealand, and of Te Aupōuri and Ngāi Takoto descent, he is the self-proclaimed ‘first citizen of the provinces.’

Register now to find out what plans are in place for a greener and more economically viable New Zealand.
