TAPAC & The Stage Company present a colourful and clever adaptation of the classic fairy-tale that will delight audiences of all ages.

This is Beauty & the Beast as you’ve never seen it before! Songs from contemporary artists feature alongside classical pieces and even a kiwi folk song. With a gutsy heroine, plenty of comedic moments with characters such as Bimbo and Barbie and sumptuous baroque-era costumes, this original production of the age-old love story is set to inspire and entertain a new generation.

Widely considered one of the greatest love stories of all times, Beauty & the Beast’s themes are as relevant as ever. Look beyond the superficial; dare to be different; love is stronger than hate; believe in magic; and never stop learning remain valuable life lessons for us all.

The Stage Company is renowned for its clever, boutique shows with high production values and first-class acting.

The heroine Beth is played by Beth Alexander (The Cul de Sac, Oddly Even); Isaac Pawson (Chicago, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) plays the Beast; Bianca Paine (Cirque de Soleil Michael Jackson One, Las Vegas, Shortland Street) is Barbie, Billie Holland (Wilde Ride, Power Rangers) is Bimbo; and Sebastian Dudding (Phantom of the Opera Tokyo, Pop Up Globe) is Igor.

Director Nancy Schroder has over 30 years’ experience as a theatre director, actor, dancer and choreographer. As artistic director of the Stage Company and Kiss Theatre she produces and directs four professional children’s shows a year that are attended by more than 30,000 children.
